Starting with the building or rehabilitation of modest but adequate housing and with equal concern for the uplifting of families and neighborhoods, the aim is to create an environment of hope, dignity and a truly human existence for all people.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

National Night Out is an annual event that builds community, generates support for anti-crime programs and strengthens police/community relations through hundreds of block parties and other events held on the first Tuesday of August.

The Salvation Army is an organization committed to serving people which attracts a wide variety of participants and supporters. Every day life better for countless people in the community by serving nutritious meals to older adults, shelter homeless families, helping individuals overcome addictions, provide after-school tutoring and recreation, and sending inner-city children to summer camp.
